What this manuscript is about
The treatise condenses practically relevant knowledge based on primary literature. What is special is that the focus has been placed on clinically relevant symptomatology. This is, for the phenomenological working approach of a homeopathic general practice, the best and most appropriate form of processing, and in this thematic density and scope it is so far unique. Such an ambition is achieved when the material can effectively help to make appropriate and sound decisions in everyday clinical practice.
To ensure a deeper understanding, not only current literature has been used, but also standard historical medical works from the second half of the 19th century, as well as specialist medical dictionaries. In addition to a terminological review of clinical terms, the primary focus is on the relationship between characteristic findings and their practical diagnosis.
An understanding of the pathological characteristics allows the specific features of individual cases to be identified more reliably, and experience shows that this makes it easier to achieve individualisation in the homeopathic differential diagnosis of remedies. At the same time, the diagnostic relationships are intended to serve as an overview for quick orientation.
The selection and compilation of topics are based on 30 years of experience in an outpatient general homeopathic practice, which prioritises a purely practical perspective.
The many therapeutic notes included are precisely that: notes which, following careful examination of the individual case, should be regarded as working tools. Continuous improvements can be made through constructive dialogue with colleagues, which is why I am grateful for constructive feedback on the content and reports of experience.
This is also in line with a view of humanity that involves an unconditional commitment to help and sincere support for patients through the limitations on their lives caused by illness.
For practical relevance in everyday therapeutic practice, it is of considerable importance to strike a good balance between a concise overview and detailed explanations, without including an excessive amount of information. This can be found in the supplementary literature used, which is included in a detailed bibliography.
