The Homeopathic Materia Medica

The homeopathic Materia Medica contains drug reactions determined by provings and validated by clinical observation - the actual treasure of knowledge of homeopathy.

The material is extremely extensive. In around 220 years, well over 1000 remedies have been described, with the number of defined drug reactions and positively influenced symptoms in cases of illness and curative case histories ranging from a few hundred to several thousand per remedy.

Since Hahnemann, the presentation has mostly been based on a head-to-toe scheme according to anatomical conditions, but has not been carried out with uniform quality over the centuries.

The differences in the quality of the publications over the long period of time are quite high. In order to find one's way professionally, a systematic guide is of great benefit, as a differentiated knowledge of around 500-700 works and their contents must be mastered.

In addition, there is an unmanageable number of publications in historical journals that have only been partially analysed or not yet analysed, which are currently being evaluated in study groups and added to the existing basic literature. (Cf. https://mmpp-saine.com/mmpp/)

The basic concepts of the homeopathy literature are presented on this subpage.

Several articles are intended to present tips for a systematic study of sources.

An in-depth article deals with the development of homeopathic Materia Medica and systematic remedy research since Hahnemann. This also forms a basis for the development of criteria for a differentiated study of sources.
