Databases on homeopathy research

The databases of the Carstens Foundation

The Carstens Foundation promotes research in complementary medicine / naturopathy, for many years also with a focus on homeopathy. It supports clinical studies, basic research and the next generation of scientists by awarding scholarships. The founders of the foundation are the then Federal President Karl Carstens (1914-1992) and his wife Veronica Carstens. Research databases were a major operational project of the Carstens Foundation for many years. This resulted in 3 databases on experimental and clinical studies in homeopathy. After a long period of commitment, these have not been updated as usual since around 2018. They are still accessible (after registration), but are no longer up to date.

Homeopathic Intervention Studies (HOMIS) in Human Diseases

In 2022, a working group of 10 researchers (Gaertner et al., 2022) compiled a literature review of clinical research on homeopathy. As part of this work, a database was set up at the Institute for Complementary and Integrative Medicine (IKIM) at the University of Bern (CH) (link to database).
